7 Rules for Giving (Part 4) Rule #7

RULE #7: GIVING TO HELP YOUR SPIRITUAL TEACHERS

There’s a kind of giving that’s purposely done to help those who teach us spiritual truths in the light of the New Creation in Christ. In this case, giving is done directly to the spiritual teacher in question.

1 Timothy 5:17-18 (TPT)
17 The pastors who lead the church well should be paid well. They should receive double honour for faithfully preaching and teaching the revelation of the Word of God.
18  For the Scriptures have taught us: “Do not muzzle an ox or forbid it to eat while it grinds the grain.” And also, “The one who labours deserves his wages.”

2 QUESTIONS:
Q1. How are these pastors to be paid?
Q2. Whose responsibility is it to pay them?

See Galatians 6:6 (TLB)
Those who are taught the Word of God should help their teachers by paying them.

CEV
Share EVERY good thing you have with anyone who teaches you what God has said.

Whenever you give to those who teach you the WORD (without being compelled or gimmicked), you’re partnering with God to PAY THEM.

Why is this rule unique?
See The Passion Translation (TPT)
6 And those who are taught the Word MUST share all good things with their teacher; a sharing of wealth takes place between them.

Did you see that? …MUST share… the word MUST is used not because if you don’t share you’ll die, contrarily you’ll live but you’ll deprive yourself of the blessed mess that accompanies sharing all good things with your teachers.

Sharing every good thing you have with those who teach you what God has said sets up a spiritual stage where WEALTH SHARING takes place between the GIVER (you) and RECEIVER (your teacher).

The primary purpose of Rule #7 is for WEALTH SHARING –

So, God wants to share the wealth in His church among His people; here’s what He does – He gives a WORD to His servants, who in turn teach His people. See 1 Corinthians 4:1 (TLB)
So Apollos and I should be looked upon as Christ’s servants who distribute God’s blessings by explaining God’s secrets –

NOTE: (every service is a supernatural set-up for the distribution of God’s blessings – HOW? By teaching what God has said).

Now, those who have been taught are expected to respond to the WORD they’ve been taught by giving directly to their teachers as a way of helping them. Once that keeps going on, WEALTH SHARING takes place affecting all the parties involved. The outcome is that there will be no poverty – that happened in the early church among the teachers and worshipers – See Acts

The scenario in the early church starts unfolding – sometimes, it could be immediately, while at other times, it could be gradually. In both instances, it’ll just be a matter of time, and there will be so much wealth sharing that the needs of every practitioner of this rule will be fully met –

While on earth, Jesus said you’ll always have the poor with you – Do you know why? Because there are so many folks who will receive the WORD, and get blessed by it, but out of greed, they’ll refuse to help their teachers by sharing their good things with them. The unfortunate outcome is that there will be no wealth sharing between them and those who teach them – so, their struggles will continue like the other nine lepers.

You remember in the city of Santos there was a critical famine, God wanted to activate wealth sharing, so He sent a WORD through Elisha. Shortly after that four lepers were engaged by that WORD, they got to the camp of the Syrians, saw food, ate from it and then gave back to the city, and the outcome was abundance as stipulated by God’s Word through His servant– – wealth was shared and it appeared like there had never been any famine in the land. See 2 Kings

Let’s read further in Galatians 6:7-10 (TPT)
7 Make no mistake about IT (WHAT? RULE #7: GIVING TO HELP YOUR SPIRITUAL TEACHERS), God will never be mocked! For what you plant will always be the very thing you harvest.
8 The harvest you reap reveals the seed that was planted. If you plant the corrupt seeds of self-life into this natural realm, you can expect to experience a harvest of corruption. If you plant the good seeds of Spirit-life you will reap the beautiful fruits that grow from the everlasting life of the Spirit.
9 And don’t allow yourselves to be weary or disheartened in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming! 10 Take advantage of every opportunity to be a blessing to others, especially to our brothers and sisters in the family of faith!

WATCH OUT FOR THIS WHEN IT COMES TO GIVING

Be careful not to be driven to give by your desire for self-attention. In other words, in giving, don’t be attention driven, but God-driven – see Matthew 6:1-3 (TPT)

It’s a natural thing for people to crave for attention. Jesus explained that related to why some people even pray – to seek attention. See Matthew 6:5 (TPT)
