THE UNSEEN DAMAGING POWER OF A SINGLE BUT CONSISTENT LIE

Don’t you know that when you allow even a little lie into your heart, it can permeate your entire belief system?

A SINGLE LIE is so powerful in a negative sense, but more to be concerned about is when it becomes a consistent lifestyle – if allowed into the heart – that is if tolerated for a while – it has the unseen ability to PERMEATE your entire belief while causing deep damages in the human soul – the Bible uses a metaphor of YEAST that has an unhidden effect when it’s folded in flour paste – oftentimes, lies are done in the secret, but the effects are UNHIDDEN

What’s a LIE?

Simply put, a lie is the complete opposite of the TRUTH – I got that from Jesus in John 8:44 (NKJV): ‘You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it’.

The Greek term for LIE in this verse is PSEUDOS, pronounced PSYOO’-DOS – it means to look like the truth, but it’s not, it just looks like it – a lie is synonymous with FALSEHOOD –

What or Who is the Author of Lies? Jesus gives us the answer in John 8:44 – it’s the DEVIL –

There’s no school or course where people are taught about lies, but to understand what a lie is, how it operates and its lifetime devastating effects on the human soul (mind, emotions, and willpower), all you need to do is to pay close, consistent and undivided attention to learning and knowing the truth.  Everything the Bible teaches about the TRUTH is true in the opposite sense about a lie –

Here’s an important thought I’d like to leave you with: ‘KNOWING the TRUTH makes us FREE’ – John 8:32 (TLB) ‘And you will KNOW the truth, and the truth will set you free’.

The TRUTH in itself doesn’t make anyone free – that means even if you were to carry all the truth in the world and store them in your house, that wouldn’t still serve as a guarantee for your freedom – what Jesus teaches us here is that it’s the KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH that makes us free.  This reality can be explained further using a scenario where a person places a Holy Bible under their pillow, sleeps on it, and still gets oppressed repeatedly by evil forces.  It’s not the truth that you CARRY but KNOW that MAKES YOU FREE –

Two words need to be understood here: first, KNOW, and second, FREE – I want you to always remember that as powerful as the truth is, it’s only its knowledge that’ll unleash its power to make us free – the Greek term for KNOW in John 8:32 is ginōskō, and it means TO BE AWARE (conscious) and TO UNDERSTAND – the same Greek term is used for MAKE and FREE – and in both cases it means LIBERATE, DELIVER, and  EXEMPT – the key point here is that the knowledge of the truth guarantees a double portion of deliverance –

If knowing the truth makes us free, it means consistently living in a lie will put a person in deep and devastating bondage.
