Jealousy isn’t just a negative emotion but it’s also a mental stronghold that needs to be dealt with. Unlike rejection, jealousy is a feeling of discontentment or dissatisfaction because of what another person has. Jealousy may also mean to view someone else’s success as a threat to your success. It’s to view a person’s favour as a threat to how you will be treated.

You can know that you’re jealous when you’re envious. That’s why another name for jealous is envy. Jealously is a diabolical weapon, which the devil has used and is still using to destroy lives. Many relationships, homes, marriages, employment, opportunities, etc., have been terminated prematurely because of this demonic seed called jealousy. The focus of today’s post is to show you four principal causes of jealousy.

  1. The Feeling that Your Own Needs Are not Met, while Someone else’s Needs Are Met

Such a feeling will always result to jealousy. Some people feel that their prayers aren’t answered, while the prayers of other people are answered. Some feel they’re not loved, while others are loved. There’re still some who feel that they’re not blessed, while others are blessed. All these feelings and many others are enough ground upon which the seed of jealousy can be cultivated either consciously or unconsciously. My recommendation is that you stop nursing the feeling that you’re not catered for; stop to feel that you’re not appreciated. Just stop to feel that there’s something which isn’t being done to you which was supposed to be done to you. Such feelings are all lies from the devil.

  1. Doubts over Your Own Ability to Succeed

Anytime you begin to doubt whether you have the ability to succeed or not, you’re setting up a platform for jealousy in your life. Beloved, I have this question to ask you: “Who told you, you can’t succeed?” Those who have succeeded aren’t mightier than you. All you need is to put yourself in order.

  1. The Feeling of a Sense of Powerlessness

Such a feeling makes you become jealous of those who have power. Who even told you that you’re powerless? Is it because you prayed for a sick person and nothing happened? Keep on praying for more sick people. One day, something will happen. Have you forgotten the word’s of Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20? “All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on the earth has been given to me. Go then… I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be)” [Amplified].

He said further in Luke 10:19 that, “Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you” [Amplified].

Did you see that? So, what else do you need?

  1. Insecurity

This is a feeling that makes you act like you’ve become short of something. Such a feeling will make you feel unworthy; and you’ll end up becoming jealous of someone else’s security. The problem with insecurity is that it will always produce a mind set of low self-esteem, which gives birth to jealousy.

Beloved, these are life’s issues which we need to deal with in order to position ourselves to effortlessly enforce Christ’s victory for mankind on a daily basis. In my next post I’ll share with you on “5 Consequences of Jealousy”. What I mean is that if you choose to allow jealousy to rule your life instead of God’s love, it’ll result to terrible damages.
