On my last post, I said, according to Jesus’ words in John 15:16, that we’ve been supernaturally POSITIONED to bear fruit. The term “fruit” here actually refers to “souls”, if we choose to interpret this in line with what Paul said to the Christians in Rome in Romans 1:13.
This supernatural POSITION, which is synonymous with ENDOWMENT, is a place of highest honour, at the right hand of God. It’s a POSITION of power. The implication of this is that, our primary concern shouldn’t be a desire for power, but how to stir up the power in us by virtue of our supernatural position in Christ, through which we have been filled with God’s power; so that its purpose can be actualized.
Now, I’m going to show you two ways to do that.
- By Being Consistent with the Word
Internally, the fullness of God’s power is in our born again spirit, where the Holy Spirit lives. Externally, God’s power resides in His written Word, which is meant to serve as a stirrer of His power in us. To this effect Paul says “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for IT IS THE POWER OF GOD…” [Romans 1:16]
He also told the Christians in Corinth that “And my speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in DEMONSTRATION of the SPIRIT and of POWER:” [1Corinthians 2:4].
So the very first way to stir up God’s power in your born again spirit is to be consistent with the Word.
2. By Purposefully Talking to People about Jesus
This is where the connection between God’s power and our wealth comes in. Souls are very important to God. That’s the reason why Jesus had to die in the first place, given that He came to “seek and to save that which was lost” [Luke 19:10]. He was referring to the human soul here.
While speaking to the children of Israel through Moses, God gave them the following instruction: “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee POWER to get WEALTH, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” [Deuteronomy 8:18].
The word “power” in this verse is from the Hebrew “kÔach kÔach”, meaning “fruits” among others; while “wealth” is from the Hebrew “chayil”, which means “riches”, among others.
What was God telling ancient Israel, that He’s telling us today? “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee POWER [Hebrew “kÔach kÔach”, meaning “FRUITS” among others] to get WEALTH [Hebrew “chayil”, meaning “GOODS, SUBSTANCE, RICHES, among others], that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day”
To clearly understand what God’s saying here, I’d need to show you what Paul said to the Roman Christians in Romans 1:13 “Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some FRUIT among you also, even as among other Gentiles”.
The Greek rendition “kar-pos′” is used for “fruit” to mean “souls”. The means through which Paul was to have FRUIT in Rome was by the preaching of the gospel [Romans 1:15].
Putting Deuteronomy 8:18 and Romans 1:13 together, you’ll find out that God’s saying that He gives us souls in order to enrich our lives. That sounds like what Paul said to the church in Ephesus by revelation: “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and WHAT THE RICHES OF THE GLORY OF HIS INHERITANCE IN THE SAINTS” [Ephesians 1:18 KJV].
Reading this verse from The Living Bible will drive the point I’m making home: “I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future he has called you to share. I WANT YOU TO REALIZE THAT GOD HAS BEEN MADE RICH BECAUSE WE WHO ARE CHRIST HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO HIM!” [TLB]
Did you see that? The finished work of Christ has created room for the human soul to be restored to God; and speaking by the Holy Spirit, Paul says this has made God RICH. In the same vein Jesus tells us that He has chosen and POSITIONED us in a place of authority, which is at the right hand of the Father, in order to win souls, through which we gain uninterrupted access to unending supernatural riches, considering that He’s the Lord God who gives us FRUITS [souls] to gets WEALTH.
So whatever you think you’re looking for is in a soul out there – the ministerial manpower, the money, and every other thing. You’ll never understand how this works until you experience it first hand; and the only way to do that is to launch your net of the gospel out to the deep for a great catch bearing in mind that “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee POWER [Hebrew “kÔach kÔach”, meaning “FRUITS” among others] to get WEALTH [Hebrew “chayil”, meaning “GOODS, SUBSTANCE, RICHES, among others], that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” [Deuteronomy 8:18].
Make impacting lives your drive for living, and see how wealthy you’ll end up becoming.
