WITH WHAT HAPPENED to the human race as a result of Adam’s fall, God decided to put in place a new plan that would guarantee His supernatural blessings upon mankind. That plan was Jesus. Apostle Paul tells us this when he says: “God has sent me to help his church and to tell his secret plan to you Gentiles. He has kept this secret for centuries and generations past, but now at last it has pleased him to tell it to those who love him and live for him, and the riches and glory of his plan are for you Gentiles too. And this is the secret: THAT CHRIST IN YOUR HEARTS IS YOUR ONLY HOPE OF GLORY” [Colossians 1:25-27 TLB].

Jesus brought God’s rich blessings to humanity. That’s why John tells us also that: “We have all benefited from the RICH BLESSINGS he brought to us – blessing upon blessing heaped upon us!” [John1:16 TLB]. But beyond bringing God’s blessings to mankind, it’s imperative to understand how God was able to achieve that. God’s Word however doesn’t leave us in the dark as far as that’s concern. In Luke’s narration in the last verse of the third chapter of Acts of the Apostles, he tells us the following: “When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways” NLT.

This verse gives us a blue print of God’s chosen method to bless mankind: it’s by turning man away from sin. You see, to turn man away from sin means to endow him with a supernatural ability to exert a lifetime of absolute dominion over sin. This is exactly what Paul meant when he quipped: “Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions” [Romans 6:12 AMPLIFIED]. Your access to such a lifestyle of absolute dominion over sin is the new birth; that is when you’re born again. This dominion over sin is shown in John’s words when he said: “But to as many as did receive Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name” [John 1:12 AMPLIFIED]. The reason for this new lifestyle of absolute dominion over sin at the new birth is because being born again is not human, it’s purely divine. In order to support this, John tells us further the following about those who are born again: “Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!]” [John 1:13 AMPLIFIED].

Did you see that? To be born again means to be born of God; and that makes you a child of God. To be called a child of God means to be completely free from sin, and it’s such a lifestyle that distinguishes children of God from those who belong to the devil [Satan]. See what John tells us again: “Oh, dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: if you are constantly doing what is good, it is because you are good, even as he is. But if you keep on sinning, it shows that you belong to Satan, who since he first began to sin has kept steadily at it. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the devil. The person who has been born into God’s family does not make a practice of sinning, because now God’s life is in him; so he can’t keep on sinning, for this new life has been born into him and controls him – he has been born again. So now we can tell who is a child of God and who belongs to Satan…” [1 John 3:7-10 TLB].

So, at the new birth, your born again spirit is indwelled by the Holy Spirit, whose primary responsibility is to teach you, in the light of God’s flawless Word, how to reign over sin. This is important because your understanding of your dominion over sin at the new birth will help you to cultivate an attitude that will continuously trigger the flow of God’s blessings in and through your life. Being born again positions you for a lifetime of all round victory, which begins with a complete victory over sin. This explains why, speaking by the Holy Spirit, John says: “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith” [1 John 5:4 NIV].

So, Jesus came to bless us, and to do that, He set up a platform to guarantee our new birth, given that it’s only when we’re born again that we can actually enjoy the blessedness of a life that’s completely free from sin.

Another thing I must point out here is that, the reality of the blessings of God can only be possible in your life as a Christian if you come to a point where you start living in the consciousness of the fact that in Christ you have been completely forgiven, and as a result, in your new status as a child of God, He holds absolutely nothing against you. Meditate on this: “You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were not yet cut away. Then he gave you a share in the very life of Christ, for HE FORGAVE ALL YOUR SINS” [Colossians 2:13 TLB].

The more you walk in this knowledge the greater the manifestations of God’s blessings that you’ll see in and through your life. It’s only then that the families of the earth can be blessed through you, because you’re not only blessed but you’re also a carrier of the blessings. Being forgiven and blessed is something you should meditate on consistently, because the more you understand it, the more of God’s blessings you’ll see flowing in and through you.

Anything that doesn’t want you to accept and believe in this timeless and priceless biblical truth about your being blessed through the new birth is actually fighting against your blessings. Your responsibility in this is to meditate on God’s forgiveness that you have received in Christ. God has forgiven you, and no one can undo that. Go ahead and ponder on it, and that’ll get your faith stronger to trust God for anything in spite of how impossible the situation might seem.

It’s important that you build your Christian life and faith on this biblical truth about your being forgiven and blessed. The Author of the Book of Hebrews refers to this as “Knowing the truth of forgiveness”. Look at what he tells us: “If anyone sins deliberately by rejecting the Savior after KNOWING THE TRUTH OF FORGIVENESS, this sin is not covered by Christ’s death; there is no way to get rid of it” [Hebrews 10:26 TLB].

The Greek word for “forgiveness” here is “aphesis”, which means to – PARDON, FREE, LIBERATE and DELIVER someone from something that has been holding them back. What God’s Word teaches us is that through the new birth that brought us into a supernatural relationship with Christ, we have received God’s “aphesis” – forgiveness of all our sins. This means in Christ, God has FORGIVEN us. Now the question I would like to ask is this:

Colossians 1:12-14 [TLB]

“And always thankful to the Father who has made us fit to share all the wonderful things that belong to those who live in the kingdom of light. For he has RESCUED US out of the darkness and gloom of Satan’s kingdom and brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son, who bought our freedom with his blood and FORGAVE US ALL OUR SINS”

 Colossians 2:13-15 [TLB]

“You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were not yet cut away. Then he gave you a share in the very life of Christ. For he FORGAVE ALL YOUR SINS, and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of his commandments which you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross. In this way God took away Satan’s power to accuse you of sin, and God openly displayed to the whole world Christ’s triumph at the cross where YOUR SINS WERE ALL TAKEN AWAY”

 Ephesians 1:7 [TLB]

“So overflowing is his kindness towards us that he took away ALL OUR SINS through the blood of his Son, by whom we are saved”

James 1:18 [TLB]

“And it was a happy day for him when he gave us our new lives, through the truth of his Word, and we became, as it were, the first children in his new family”

 Ephesians 1:4 [TLB]

“Long ago, even before he made the world, God chose us to be his very own, through what Christ would do for us; HE DECIDED THEN TO MAKE US HOLY IN HIS EYES, WITHOUT A SINGLE FAULT – we who stand before him covered with his love”

2 Corinthians 5:17 [TLB]

“When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same any more. A new life has begun!”

 Romans 8:1[TLB]

“SO THERE IS now no condemnation awaiting those who belong to Christ Jesus”

Hebrews 10:17-18 [TLB]

“And then he adds, ‘I WILL NEVER AGAIN REMEMBER THEIR SINS AND LAWLESS DEEDS.’ Now, when SINS HAVE ONCE BEEN FOREVER FORGIVEN AND FORGOTTEN, there is no need to offer more sacrifices to get rid of them”

My dear friend, your responsibility is to spend your time to meditate on this biblical truth, because understanding it is what will determine the possibility of living in the fullness of God’s blessings brought to you by Christ. Yes, in Christ, you can “Now walk right into the very Holy of Holies where God is, because of the blood of Jesus” [Hebrews 10:19 TLB]. The Author of the Book of Hebrews calls this “The fresh, new, life-giving way which Christ has opened up for us by tearing the curtain – his human body – to let us into the holy presence of God” [Hebrews 10:20 TLB].

Jesus is the One who has brought the fullness of God’s blessings upon mankind, and these blessings are everywhere – in your life, marriage, career, business, home, finances, ministry, etc. In Psalm 104:24, David, speaking by the Spirit of God, tells us that “The earth is full of your riches.” Your ability to appropriate these rich blessings for yourselves is tied to your supernatural relationship with Jesus. The implication of this is that without Jesus, these blessings will never become a physical reality in your life, let alone spreading to others around you. What you need right now in case you’re not in a relationship with Jesus is to enter into one with Him, given that the capacity to harness God’s blessings doesn’t reside in you, it comes from Him. You can do that by simply praying the following prayer of faith:

“Dear God, according to Romans 4:25, I believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins, and rose again to make me right with you, in order to fill me with your goodness. I also confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord. Today, I accept Jesus into my heart as my Personal Lord and Saviour.

In accordance with Romans 10:10, which say if I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth, I will be saved, I know that from now henceforth: I am born again; I am a new creation in Christ, old things are passed away, behold, all things have become new. I have the very life of God in me; I am God’s righteousness in Christ. I am lifted with Christ and together we are seated in heaven at the right hand of the Father, far, far above principalities and powers. Just as Christ is, so am I in this world, in Jesus’ Name”. Amen.

Congratulations! You’re now born again. Welcome to God’s supernatural family built on the foundation that’s Christ. I’m certain that you have been blessed by this piece.
